Limitations

Assumes air or nitrogen (k = 1.4) as an ideal gas, expanding to atmosphere, per the stored-energy method in ASME PCC-2.

Exclusion distances are not calculated here. They must come from the test procedure and ASME PCC-2 or the site engineering authority.

Hydrostatic (liquid-filled) systems store far less energy. This calculator is for gas testing only.
